General Notes: Henry was a machinist at General Electric in Burlington for 15 years until his retirement in 1989. Prior to that he was employed by Wirthmore Grain Company in St. Albans. Henry spent a large part of his life on Lake Champlain, fishing from his boat with family and friends during the summer and on the ice in the winter. He also greatly enjoyed hunting deer and other outdoor activities. He was a member of St. Albans Lodge of Loyal Order of the Moose. Henry married Jeannine MORIN, daughter of Ralph MORIN and Blanche LUSSIER, on 8 Jul 1950 in Swanton, Franklin Co., VT. Jeannine was born on 18 Aug 1931 in St. Albans, Franklin Co., VT, died on 9 Mar 2007 in Sheldon, Franklin Co., VT at age 75, and was buried on 13 Mar 2007. She also enjoyed traveling, playing cards and spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially watching their sporting events. She is the beloved mother of Michael Girard and his wife, Sherry of Derby, Patricia Pigeon and her husband, Maurice of Swanton, Diane Beyor and her special friend, Tom of St. Albans, Janice Girard and her special friend, Bill of Fletcher, Gary Girard and his wife, Sally of Sheldon, Peter Kittell and his wife, Carolyn of Franklin, Jeffrey Kittell and his wife, Debra of Sheldon, Lee Emerson and her husband, Michael, of Fairfield, Kristen Allie and her husband, Dan of Detroit, Mich.; special grandmother of Cory, Christopher and Tim Girard, Cari and Kelly Bruley, Wendy Marchessault, Scott Beyor, Steven Belisle, Taylor Girard, Tammy Yates, Chris Pigeon, Danielle and Sarah Kane, and Derrick LaMarche; great-grandmother to Chase, Tanner and Mirra Girard. She is also survived by her sisters, Madeline Bushey and her husband, Roger of St. Albans, Frances Garnet and her husband, Arnold of Milton, Jackie Krish and her husband, Emery Burlington, Conn.; and sister-in-law, Anita Morin of St. Albans; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her granddaughter, Hayley Girard; and brothers, Paul and Bernard Morin. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at 11 a.m. in the Brady & Levesque Funeral Chapel. General Notes: Theresa's obituary as published in The Burlington Free Press, 1/9/2009: THERESA (GIRARD) KING FLETCHER Theresa (Girard) King, 80, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, at her home on the King Homestead, Buck Hollow Road in Fletcher, with her loving family at her side. She was born in Dearborn, Mich., on Sept. 21, 1928, daughter of the late Henry and Blanche (Blanchette) Girard. Theresa married Robert J. King on Feb. 27, 1949, in Holy Angels Catholic Church in St. Albans, and made their home at the King Homestead, where Robert, a fifth generation of the King family, was a longtime dairy farmer and sugar maker. Theresa and Robert were married 56 years when he passed away. Theresa enjoyed playing bingo and cards, taking trips to the casinos, cooking and will be especially remembered for her famous baked beans. She and her husband Rob were longtime and faithful members of Fletcher Grange 473, participating in and working the weekly Tuesday night bingos. Theresa is survived by her seven children and their spouses, Suzanne and Paul Farrar of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Sandy and Kelly Lemoine of Highgate Springs, Douglas and Kathy King of Fletcher, Lorrie and Mark Vincelette of Fletcher, Nancy and Ron Renaudette of St. Albans, Kim and Scot Phillips of Westford and Robert Bob and Amy King of Fletcher; three brothers, Henry Girard and Suzanne of St. Albans, Ernest Girard and Bernice of Lyon Mountain, N.Y., and Roger Girard and Nancy of East Hampton, Conn.; a sister, Corrine Lamphere of St. Johnsbury; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband Robert, Theresa was predeceased by her father Henry Girard on May 5, 1973; her mother Blanche (Blanchette) Girard Gignac on June 20, 2008; and her brother Andrew Girard. Robert was born on 20 Mar 1916 in Fletcher, Franklin Co., VT, died on 30 Jul 2005 in Fletcher, Franklin Co., VT at age 89, and was buried on 3 Aug 2005 in Carroll Hill Cemetery/Fairfax, Franklin Co., VT. General Notes: Robert was a longtime Fletcher dairy farmer, farming the family farm that has had five generations of Kings doing so. He retired in 1985. He was a member of Fletcher Grange 473 for over forty years and was an avid bingo player. In 2003 he was honored with the dedication of the Fletcher Town report for his many years of service to the town. He was a selectman, planning board member and chairman. He was first elected to the select board in 1972 and continually held a town position every year except for a year and a half break. In 2003 he completed twenty seven years as a lister.
