Cora Turner Pittingale BOIVIN

I was doing some research this weekend. It seems that Cora Turner PITTINGALE, who Napoleon Boivin married, was adopted by Charles Turner. The 1910 census, of VT-Franklin Co.-St. Albans, shows him living there. There was also a Harriett BUSSETT lodging there. Then, there was Cora and Samantha TURNER, "adopted" daughters. So Samantha seems to be Cora's younger sister. It says she and her parents were both born in VT. I couldn't get anything on PITTINGALE, so am wondering if the spelling is off, or just where this last name came from.
