Catherine married Walter Edwin MITCHELL, son of John MITCHELL and Sarah Goe DAVIDSON, on 14 Apr 1915 in Sutton, Caledonia Co., VT. Walter was born on 8 Mar 1898 in Lower Ireland, Quebec, Canada, died on 30 Dec 1944 in Lyndonville, Caledonia Co., VT at age 46, and was buried in Lyndon Center Cemetery, Caledonia Co., VT.

Marriage Notes: Catherine and Walter were married by Elisha Sanderson, Baptist clergy. Although their marriage year is stated as 1915, note that in 1920, she was living with her parents under the name WEBSTER and listed as single.


General Notes: Walter worked in the mines at Thetford and East Broughton, Quebec. He moved to Lyndonville VT in December of 1921, where he was first employed as a logger in Granby and Victory VT.

General Notes: Beverly was a graduate of Lyndon Institute, VT and received a teaching degree from Lyndon State College. She taught school for 52 years, teaching in Wilson, NY, Hardwick, VT, Newark Street School (as principle), VT, Burke, VT, St. Johnsbury and Lyndon Campus School, VT, just to name a few. Beverly retired on two different occasions, but returned to teaching as she missed being with the children. She was an active member of the Sutton Freewill Baptist Church and the Lyndonville Historical Society. She enjoyed teaching, enjoyed flowers and sewing. She made many prom and wedding dresses as well as clothing for her family. Beverly was active in politics, was justice of the peace and was a staunch Republican. Grandchildren at the time of her death not recorded in family groups were: Wendy Robinson, Nicholas and Wendy St. Hilaire, Mark St. Hilaire, Heather and Elizabeth Lawson, Jeremy and Christy Lawson, Erin and Peter Guifoyle.

She loved her family and her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Lyndonville United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Barbara Dwyer officiating.

Barbara married Sidney William CHAMBERLAIN on 1 Jan 1947. Sidney was born in 1926 and died after 2003.
